I finally found a job here in the U.S to keep me out of poverty!

Many Germans left Germany because of the terrible economic hardships, religious persecution's, and wars. Many who moved to the U.S were protesters in Germany. They chose to go to the U.S to be safe from wars and persecutions. https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/Germany_Emigration_and_Immigration
Britain was experiencing hardships to such as poverty and political hardships. Many people lived in poverty and experienced unemployment.
