  • This is the Periodic Table.
  • Why are there numbers on the top and side?
  • The numbers on the top represent the groups each element is in.
  • The numbers on the side represent what period the element is in.
  • If 2 or more of these elements are combined it creates a compound.
  • What are those numbers on the top left and bottom?
  • It represents how many neutrons and protons are in the element.
  • The number on the top left is the atomic number.
  • The number on the bottom is called the Atomic Mass. That represents how many protons and neutrons are in the element.
  • Halogens are dangerous but also can be useful. Noble Gasses have important uses.
  • In Group 17 we have our Halogens, and in group 18 we have our Noble Gasses. 
  • Alright class today we have learned about the periodic table. Your homework is to write 1 paragraph about an element.
