Daniel's parents were Johann Bernoulli and Dorothea Falkner. Daniel’s mother and father came from Basel, and was a qualified medical doctor and brilliant mathematician well-known and wealthy family in Basel, Switzerland.
Around schooling age, his father, Johann, encouraged him to study business.Daniel refused, because he wanted to study mathematics.He later gave in to his father's wish and studied business. His father asked him to study in medicine, Daniel agreed under the condition that his father would teach him mathematics privately.

Daniel never got married and had no kids.He won the Paris Academy’s Grand Prize a total of 10 times, often for themed work, including: the best shape for a ship’s anchor; theory of the tides; magnetism; ocean currents; and improving the stability of ships in high seas.
The Swiss mathematician and physicist Daniel Bernoulli is best known for his work on hydrodynamics, but he also did pioneering work on the kinetic theory of gases.
He wanted to know about the relationship between the speed at which blood flows and its pressure. It wasn't until 170 years later in 1896 an Italian doctor discovered a less painful method which is still in use today.
