On the 17th of May 1536, Anne and Henry VIII are walking to the church to get divorced.
But you can't do this.
I do not grant you this.

I now place myself as the head of the church.
Henry VIII and Anne are going to be told by the pope that they are not allowed to get divorced because the Pope refused to grant Henry this.
Now that I am head of the church, our divorce is now legal.
When the Pope did not grant Henry VIII's divorce he got extremely angry.
Henry VIII places himself as the head of the church, so he make make his divorce legal.
Now that Henry VIII is head of the church, his divorce with Anne is now legal. Their divorce was on the 17th of May 1536. After Henry VIII and Anne's divorce Henry VIII beheaded Anne.
