  • On page 204, Atticus stands up against white people to save a black man in jail. This shows how much courage Atticus had.
  • Tom Robinson is not here.
  • On page 273-274 Atticus defends Tom with his closing argument. Once again he fights white men to save a black man. He refers back to what Thomas Jefferson said and stated that all me were created equal. But, this courtroom is not.
  • Tom Robinson should not be guilty.
  • Tom Robinson should be guilty.
  • Stand up Miss Jean Louise, your father is passing
  • On page 283, Reverend SYkes and the rest of the black community respects Atticus becuase he did what no other white man has done and that is defend a black man. He makes every stand up as Atticus is passing by.
