  • The Sugar Act 1764
  • Stamp Act 1765
  • The Boston Massacre
  • The Sugar Act was just the beginning of the cause of the Revolutionary War. The Sugar act was a tax on cloth,wines, and molasses. The Sugar Act was the first tax the British put on the colonist.
  • The Boston Tea Party 1773
  • Then comes the Stamp Act the Stamp Act was in 1765 which was 251 years ago. The Stamp Act was a tax on any and all printed paper. Also the tax was on newspaper,playing cards,pamphlets,legal documents,and even advertisments. The colonist were starting to get mad about these taxes and tried questioning the King and Parliament.
  • •The 1st Continental Congress
  • After the Tea and Quatering Act Came the Boston Massacre. The Boston Massacre angered the colonist even more. The Boston Massacre was colonist kept throwing stuff at British soldiers like ice balls. The Sons and Daughters of liberty were playing to act. But in Boston a group of about 400 citizens at the British generals house only a small group of British soldiers guarding but the soldiers fired on the crowd then they all ran away
  • The Battle at Lexington and Concurd
  • Then the Sons of liberty were gonna act on 1773. When the British transport ship arrived at night the Sons of liberty dressed up as Indians and snuck on the ship and dumped all the tea in the harbor. When the king heard he raged and sent troops to capture the Patriot leaders.
  • The 1st Continental Congress was a meeting called by the Committees of Correspondence. They called this meeting because they wanted to put an end on these British laws. They thought it was unfair to put laws on the colonist with out there say. So they said if Britain won't listen to them they will meet again in May 1775.
  • But of course Britain didn't listen. But Britain found out that the two Patriot leaders and colonist were gathering weapons in Boston and Lexington. Also Britain found out the two Patriot leaders were hiding in Lexington. So King George sent 700 soldiers to find the weapons and capture the two Patriot leaders. So when the troops arrived at Lexington their army of minute men waiting then a mystery shot and each side fired but the British won.
