Introduction: Louise Mallard hears the news from her sister Josephine that there was a railroad accident and believes her husband died.
Rising Action: Mrs. Mallard goes up to her room and sees it spacious with the window opens. She realizes her freedom and independence.
Climax: Mr. Mallard arrives at the house unexpectedly, when Mrs. Mallard believed he was dead.
Falling Action: When Mrs. Mallard sees her husband and loses control of herself because she is not free anymore. She notices that her life would be as it was before.
Resolution: Mrs. Mallard dies of surprise by seeing her husband alive. They said she died of a joy that kills.
