  • Conflict
  • Rising Action
  • Scarlet Ibis, Short Story by: James Hurst, Takes place in the south. Brother and Doodle are Introduced.
  • Climax
  • Doodle is born, weak and limp, he is expected to die, he does not, but he can't walk.
  • Falling Action
  • Brother and Doodle go to Old Woman Swamp and Doodle learns to walk for a few seconds. Then they show the family on Doodle's birthday.
  • Resolution
  • Brother gets mad that Doodle did not learn how to swim or climb or anything else they wanted and he leaves him behind in a storm. Doodle is in a accident and dies.
  • Brother runs back to doodle to find him dead. He looks like the Scarlet Ibis when it died. Doodle is connected to the Scarlet Ibis.
  • Brother Realizes that It is his fault that Doodle is dead because he was upset.
