Cattle, Cotton and Railroads
The cattle drives were typically very long, and we had many obstacles along the way.
Imagine all of these cattle charging towards you. It would not be the best experience. These were called stampedes, and could happen anytime
The railroads revolutionized the cattle industry, letting people put cattle on trains and bring them up north.
This is not what really happened, but, its an idea
the open range was an unexplored place, there were no fences. this scene has a fence, but its looking toward the range.
West texas had lots of ranches, this is a ranch, and a lot of cattle lived here
