Storyboard Text

  • This is the original world, because its the world that Odysseus was in before his adventure. "After Menalaus was chosen to be Helen's husband, Odysseus married Penelope, daughter of King Icarus, and the happiness of the young couple was crowned by the birth of a son, Telemachus." Odysseus started a life with Penalope and then had a son named Telemachus.
  • Odysseus' call to justice was when he was told he had to go fight in the Trojan war. "Odysseus was loath to leave his wife and son to fight in a distant land for a woman he no longer desired." Odysseus' call to adventure was when he had to go fight
  • Odysseus did not want to leave his family so he acted insane. "Odysseus, King of Ithica, small Ionian island off the coast of western Greece, did not want to leave his family and his homeland. IN order to avoid fighting, he acted as though he had gone mad. He did this by plowing his fields night and day, planting salt instead of grain." This was his refusal of the call because he did not want to go fight, but he had to because they revealed his sanity by throwing his son in front of his horse and he swerved off the road.
  • This is the mentor because a specific goddess helps Odysseus. "Zues sends Hermes, the messenger god to Calyspo with an order:She must release Odysseus and hep him to return home." Odysseus' guide was Athena, because she asks her father to help Odysseus because she felt bad for him
  • .
  • Odysseus faces many tasks and challenges. "O forlorn man, be still. Here you need grieve no more;you need not feel your life consumed here, I have pondered it, and I shall let you go..." Odysseus faces many tasks, but this one is a challenge because he is captured and he has to be patient enough and wait for her to let him go.
  • Odysseus returns, but no one knows its him, but in the contest his wife holds to decide who her husband shall be, he seizes his bow and arrow. "So effortlessly Odysseus in one motion strings the bow." This is seizing the sword because he has his hunting bow back and saves his wife by killing the suitors.
