Meet King Laios and Queen Jocasta, the mother and father of the cursed child of a cursed family. The baby's name is Oedipus. He is succumbed to a prophecy of killing his father and marrying his mother.
What crawls on 4 legs in the morning, walks on 2 legs in the afternoon, and walks on 3 legs in the night?
Oedipus should not be alive. He was supposed to be left in the woods to die because of his curse. Instead, another Royal family adopted him, which made Oedipus believe that that family created him(he was never told that he was adopted).
On his travel to Thebes, unbeknownst to him, Oedipus kills his father King Laios over an accident. He fulfills the first part of the prophecy.
My turn to rule.
Oedipus solved a riddle from the evil Sphinx and saved Thebes. He ended up marrying his mother Jacosta. He and Jacosta had four kids: Polynieces,Eteocles, Antigone, and Ismene.
The Oracle of Thebes told Oedipus that he must find the murderer of King Laois. After Oedipus and Jacosta find out the truth about the prophecy coming true, Jacosta commits suicide and Oedipus gouges out his eyes and wanders the lands as a homeless beggar.
The brothers(Polyneices and Eteocles) ended up ruling Thebes" together". After years of rule, Eteocles ruled over Thebes and didn't want to give up power. Polyneices gathered an army and tried to take Thebes by force. Polyneices and Eteocles killed each other, and Creon took over the kingdom
