New Weapons: Rifled Musket and explosive canons
New Weapons made snipers more accurate and simple battle plans when faced against the new weapons became deadly for the soldiers
Disease was one of the common reasons for death. This is because the men were not very hygienic and they would drink out of the same water they swam out of.
Medical knowledge was limited at the time and doctors and surgeons didn't know that letting a wound get infected could cause the patient to die. Surgeons would just wipe their tools on their coats and wash them in dirty water.
Baseball and wrestling were some of the more popular sports to do while the troops were not at war
Some of the other activities the soldiers did while waiting to battle were reading, writing letters, playing cards, hunting and fishing, and singing, they would even sometimes sing with the enemy if they were camped near by.
