Storyboard Text

  • After over a week, she could not go any longer without food and ate six pomegranate seeds before bursting into tears.
  • Meanwhile, Demeter missed her daughter so much that nothing else mattered except finding her. This included making the crops grow, so people were starving.
  • Finally, someone told Zeus about the issue, and so he sent his son, Hermes to make a deal with Hades to get Persephone back.
  • The deal was not loved, but accepted. Persephone was to marry Hades and starting in the Winter, she was to spend six months in the underworld as Hades queen, and to return to the Earth in the Spring for six months.
  • In the Spring, Demeter would make sure that the flowers and plants were in beautiful bloom for the return of her daughter. However in the Fall when Persephone returned to the underworld, she would let all of the plants die in sadness. This is what the Ancient Greeks believed to be the reason for seasons.
  • The end! Made by Gina Scala, Block 1
