After avoiding Scylla and Charybdis, Odysseus and his men end up in Helios' land. Helios has many, many cows. Odysseus's men are starving, but he tells them not to kill any of the cows for food.
I know you are hungry, but whatever you do, do not kill the cows!
Completely disregarding Odysseus's orders, Eurylochus (one of Odysseus's men) kills a cow and eats it. Odysseus is incredibly upset because he knows that there will be a severe consequence.
Gosh that cow was very tasty! I mean.. what cow? I didn't kill a cow...
Helios complains about Eurylochus's behavior to Zeus. Zeus then sends down a massive storm that destroys all of the ships and kills everyone.. except Odysseus.
