Storyboard Text

  • Hanuman told Rama that Sita was still alive. To prove it, he showed Rama the jewel that Sita gave to him. Rama begins his journey to Lanka to save Sita.
  • "You have given me reason to live again" (Tominberg 7).
  • Ravana tried to convince Sita that Rama was dead, so that she would accept living in Lanka with Ravana. To trick her, he created an exact copy of Rama's head and showed it to Sita.
  • But what shall I do? O Rama, I am the terrible woman who has brought all this upon you. I pray take me too. Take me with you, my love" (Tominberg 7).
  • "O Sita, Rama has failed in his attempt to rescue you. His army has been destroyed. That is the end of your hope. The time has come to change your mind and become my queen" (Tominberg 7).
  • A great battle broke out, lasting four days. During this battle, Ravana's son, Indrajit, either killed or injured every monkey in the army.
  • "I shall send you both to the house of death" (Tominberg 7).
  • To revive the monkeys, Hanuman brought them medicinal herbs. When the monkeys inhaled these herbs, they instantly regained their strength. Rama, Lakshmana, Vibhishana used all their weapons and strength to overcome Indrajit.
  • "Victory to Rama!" (Tominberg 8).
  • With Ravana's son, Indrajit, killed, Ravana was angry. Rama and Ravana fought. Ravana fired a magic arrow at Rama, but Rama split Ravana's arrow with one of his own. Rama was growing weaker and weaker.
  • "My spirit is nearly gone. My arms and legs ache. My heart wants to go on, but my body can no longer respond" (Tominberg 8).
  • Rama regains his strength by praying to the sun. Rama fires his most powerful weapon, the Brahma-missile, at Ravana. The missile explodes and Ravana dies. Vibhishana becomes the new king of Lanka, and mourns his brother's death.
