  • I've invented it! The telegraph! It will be the first communication instrument to use wires and electricity.

  • I've made a code to use with it called Morse code.
  • Famous inventor, Samuel Morse, calls his wife, Elizabeth Griswold, into the room to tell her big news.
  • ooh, a transition!
  • 180 Years Later...
  • He explains to Elizabeth that he has created the telegraph, a device using wires and electricity to send and receive messages long distance.
  • America, 2017
  • So even though the telegraph isn't in use today, we still use morse code and the telegraph has inspired things like radio.
  • Morse code uses a series of on-off clicks, lights, or tones.
  • The End
  • A classroom of middle school students in 2017
  • A teacher at a local middle school explains the amount of impact the telegraph has made on the world, including the development of new inventions.
