  • Shall I strike it with my partisan?
  • Stay and speak! Stop it Marcellus.
  • Act 1 Scene 4
  • My lord, I did., but answer it made none.
  • Did you not speak to it?
  • Act 1 Scene 5
  • But know, thou noble youth, the serpent that did sting thy father's life now wears his crown
  • O, my prophetic soul! My uncle!
  • Horatio, Marcellus, and Barnardo attempt to talk to the late King Hamlet's ghost on the guards' platform at Elsinore, but it disappeared when the sun came up. 
  • Horatio, Marcellus, and Barnardo explain the encounter with Hamlet's father's ghost. Hamlet eagerly desires to also see his father's ghost.
  • The ghost of late King Hamlet reveals to Hamlet he is a victim of Claudius' murder. Hamlet plans to take revenge for his father's death.
