Okay class, now, who can tell me the job of a wheel and axle, how it works, it's direction of force and load, and give an example?
The job is to move mobily. It works by having two or more wheels pivot around an axle. The force and load go in different directions. An every day example is cars.
Good! Now, who can tell me the job of an inclined plane, how it works, say which way the force and load go in and give an example?
The job is to make stuff easier to lift. It works by allowing less force to be used depending on how steep it is. The force and load go in the same direction. A very common example are ramps.
Okay, thank you, Patty.
Well in know that stuff about a wedge, the job is too separate items or hold them together. It works by being moved by a force, the force and load go in different directions. An example is an axe.
