  • Election Results of 1824 and the Corrupt Bargain

  • Your all fired!
  • During the election of 1824 Jackson had bribed Henry Clay into electing him by making henry secretary of state in return. This was an unconstitutional act and it made people angry but nobody ever found proof and Henry and Jackson worked together in his two terms.
  • Nullification crisis
  • North Carolina! You shall not leave!
  • Jackson killed every candidates reputations and because of this was loved and won the election with a landslide.
  • The indian removal act and the trail of tears.
  • NO!
  • Leave now!
  • After the election of 1828 almost all of the federal employees are fired and replaced with supporters. This also gave family and other relatives/friends jobs without work needed.
  • Bank Wars!
  • in 1832 the Nullification Act was passed in South Carolina and they threatened to secede from the union. Jackson then passed the force bill that allowed him to use military force to keep South Carolina. A lower tariff was passed later in 1832 and South Carolina backed off..
  • The land hungry settlers had Jackson pass and act making indian tribes move to Oklahoma. The cherokee denied the plan, but were forced out at gunpoint with little food and along the trail over 4,000 Cherokee died; eventually naming the trail the "Trail of Tears"

  • (Pulls out rifle)
  • BE GONE!
  • In the final battle of Jackson's term Jackson fought the 2nd US bank calling it unconstitutional, being a symbol of big government. Later in 1832 Clay and webster renewed the bank and Jackson VETOed it ad he took a hit but people supported him and elected him for a second term.
  • NO MORE BANKS! Its unconstitutional.
