Piggy was shouting something, his face pleased, his glasses flashing (Golding 26).
His voice rose to a shriek of terror as Jack snatched the glasses off his face... Almost at once a thin trickle of smoke rose up and and made him cough. Jack knelt and blew gently, so that the smoke drifted away, thickening, and a tiny flame appeared (Golding 59-60).
Was it better to fetch Piggy's gasses, or would the ship have gone?... Then to his surprise, Ralph went to Piggy and took the glasses from him... Instantly the fire was alight (Golding 96-104).
"They didn't take the conch." "I know. They didn't come for the conch. They came for something else. Ralph- what am I going to do?" ( Golding 241).
"You pinched Piggy's specs," said Ralph, breathlessly. "You've got to give them back." (Golding 252).
The rock struck Piggy a glancing blow from chin to knee... Piggy's arms and legs twitched a bit, like a pig after it has been killed. (Golding 259).
