Storyboard Text

  • Continental Soldiers
  • Just a certificate?!?!?
  • Massachusetts Debt
  • You can't do this!
  • August 29
  • Stop! Everyone please!
  • You can't take our land! We can't do the taxes!!
  • You are treating us unfairly!!!!
  • Sending the soldiers to fight is not free. So to pay they were given certificates. I do not agree because I believe that they should have been given cash.
  • September 25-28
  • Where are we supposed to sit?!?!?
  • When Massachusetts went in debt, that taxed the people and the farmers. No one liked this and the farmers were angry because if no one bought their crops, they had no money to pay taxes. They were shocked because they were taking their land and putting them in jail.
  • Shay's New Plan
  • ZZZZZ
  • The Farmers were not happy! They all came together to close the court. The Massachusetts put all four closures to a halt.
  • Editor of Massachusetts Centinel
  • We are going to have to do something soon or else this will get out of hand!
  • Shay got a group of 600 farmers and they sat at the Springfield Court so the Supreme Judicial Court could not sit there.
  • All the men with Shay decided that they would surprise attack the new federal arsenal in Springfield. Also they would get some old veterans of soldiers that have fought in the past that would feel bad and agree with their cause and use them to hold the courts and sheriffs off.
  • We are going to do a surprise attack!
  • The editor of the Massachusetts Centinel observed that the Federal Government is going to have to be involved sooner that they thought. I do agree with this because in nothing happens soon it will get worse.
