Storyboard Text

  • Little Susie and her parents gathered around the T.V. and put on "What are Bones?"
  • Hi everyone, I'm Josh and I'm here to talk to you about bones!
  • First of all, Bones help give our bodies shape, support and protect our organs and systems.
  • The outer surface of a bone is called the periosteum, a dense membrane that contains nerves and blood vessels that nourish the bone. The next layer is made up of compact bone.
  • Within the compact bone are many layers of cancellous bone, which looks like a sponge. The cancellous bone protects the innermost part of the bone, the bone marrow. Bone marrow makes blood cells.
  • Am I going too fast? Let me start at the beginning from when we were baby's.
