Little Susie and her parents gathered around the T.V. and put on "What are Bones?"
Hi everyone, I'm Josh and I'm here to talk to you about bones!
First of all, Bones help give our bodies shape, support and protect our organs and systems.
The outer surface of a bone is called the periosteum, a dense membrane that contains nerves and blood vessels that nourish the bone. The next layer is made up of compact bone.
Within the compact bone are many layers of cancellous bone, which looks like a sponge. The cancellous bone protects the innermost part of the bone, the bone marrow. Bone marrow makes blood cells.
Am I going too fast? Let me start at the beginning from when we were baby's.
