Storyboard Text

  • Citizens are under the harsh control of the government
  • "No! The Hound! Because of the Hound!"
  • Faber: "Yes, the Hound's somewhere about the neighborhood, so don't try anything. Ready?"
  • There is an illusion of a perfect society
  • "Doesn't everyone look nice!"
  • Everyone looks swell."
  • "Isn't this show wonderful? Wonderful!"
  • "It's only two thousand dollars. And I should think you'd consider me sometimes."
  • They focus on a current trend and show us what would happen if that trend was taken too far.
  • "How long you figure untill we save up and get the fourth wall torn out and a fourth wall-TV put in? Its only two thousand dollars."
  • "That's one-third of my yearly pay"
  • In this scene, Montag is temped to run or hurt Beatty. Faber advises him against it, saying that the hound is present. The government is using the hound to control people's actions, and if they step out of line, there will be harsh consequenses.
  • Here, Mildred and her friends are seemingly have a good time, while waching nonsense on the tv. To an outsider, it would seem as if they are having fun, but really, they arent even thinking for themselves. If, like Montag, they began to think for themselves, then they would realize how dull their life really is.
  • Currently, many peope are obsessed with phones, televisions, and computers.  Many dont take the time to sit down and read. Bradbury shows what would happen if people never read, and how computer oriented they would become. This "trend" of not reading would have horrible effects, as shown by Bradbury.
