Storyboard Text

  • The Declaration of Independence is the best route to govern by, The Articles of Confederation aren't doing their job.
  • The Articles of Confederation, the first Constitution since freed from Britain, isn't working out as plan. I think we should find a new solution.
  • To improve the Articles of Confederation we should hold a Consitutional Convention
  • The men are talking about different plans to carry out for representation of each state.
  • The Virginia Plan would benefit bigger states because the amount of votes would be based off of population.
  • What about my slaves? Let's do the Three-Fifths Compromise, allowing three out of five slaves to count as a vote.
  • The Great Compromise allows senate to have equal representation, where the House of Representatives is based on popularity and elected by the people.
  • We need to think about the smaller states, and use the New Jersey Plan with one single house and one vote per state.
  • The Legislative Branch will make laws
  • The Executive Branch will carry out the laws
  • To ensure no branch has no more power than the other we will do checks and balances, and break the government in to the legislative, the executive, and the judicial branch.
  • The Judicial Branch can interpret the laws.
  • I stand for Federalism, I want a bigger, stronger government, and I see no need for a Bill of Rights!
  • Anti-Federalism makes more sense, because a smaller government is more in touch with the people, and we need a Bill of Rights!
  • What is the big deal on the Bill of Rights?
  • The Bill of Rights, can be the first ten amendments, giving us our freedoms, and gives power to the people.
  • On this day, December 15, 1791, the Bill of Right has been ratified, it has been passed, and goes into effect.
  • Yes!
  • Well, I guess there's nothing we can do about it now.
