Storyboard Text

  • This is Mohenjo-Daro we are the largest city in the Indus river valley civilization in 2600 B.C.E.
  • In Mohenjo-Daro our houses didn't have windows facing the street because we wanted to keep out the dust and the noise. Our houses are made out of mud bricks.
  • For our showers we put water in a bowl and pour it on our self. We also bathed in the Indus river.
  • To our religion, water has physical and spiritually cleansing powers. You have to cleanse daily in our religion. Also cleans your mind and soul of bad thoughts.
  • The seals are used as receipts for trading. They are pushed into wet clay to make an impression.
  • We trade with outside country's and other civilizations. We trade finished goods for gems, silver and terracotta pots. Traders were responsible for buying materials.
