Hey hon, how was your day?
UGH! It was exhausting. We learned about derivatives today in calculus. I have so much homework to do, I'm gonna go start on it now.
*stomps up stairs very loudly with frustration*
This calculus homework is just to hard.. I don't know what to do....... MOOOOOOOMMM!
I just can't seem to understand how we use derivatives in the real world.
ohhhh! So a car that is traveling over the speed limit would be the original, and then the distance it traveled would be the derivative?
Well, Derivatives are explained as a rate of change, right? So, one example of real world use could be a speeding car, and its instantaneous velocity. The derivative would be the distance traveled.
looks like you got it!
Wow! Thanks mom I feel so much better now.
No problem dear. And dinner should be ready soon !
