This scene represents the Belly of the Whale phase because it shows how Beowulf has gotten in over his head at this point because while he defeated the dragon, he also became defeated himself.
"The treasure had been won, Bought and paid for by Beowulf's death, Both had reached the end of the road, Through the life they had been lent." (2843-2846)
This scene relates to The Ultimate Boon because it is the point in the story in which Beowulf reaches his final accomplishment by defeating the dragon, It is part of the falling action/climax of the story.
"Then the Geat people began to construct, A mound on the headland, high and imposing, A marker that sailors could see from far away, And in ten days they had done the work" (3156-3159)
This scene represents the Freedom to Live phase in the Hero's Journey because it describes the point in the story where the hero has completed his quest and the Geat people are able to go back to living life freely in their society.
