Priests: I am Hailey Young and I am doing a project on the priests of Egypt. The social classes of Egypt are Pharaohs, Government Officials, Priests, Scribes, Artisans and Peasants.
One fact about priests were that that there were different levels. That’s important because certain priests did different jobs. But they all did something to do with religion. Page 96 paragraph 1
The High Priests advised the pharaoh and oversaw all religious ceremonies. That was a very important job. The high priests got lots of respect. They touched religion everyday. Page 96 paragraph 1.
Temple Priests played an extremely important role in Egyptian religion. Their primary job was to take care of his temple's G-ds. Each temple was home to one or more G-ds for the priests to take care of. They had to do lots of things for for religion, so they were very respected. Page 96 paragraph 3-4.
One more type of priest was the Other Priest. They handled more common concerns and requests. They would give advice on healing and perform them. Women could also be priests. Their main duty was to over see music and dancing temples. People could go to them for help which was important. Page 96 paragraph 1-2.
I'm back!! The Egyptian social classes aren't only used for Ancient Egypt. For example, you can apply it for school. The principal is the pharaoh, the assistant principal is the Government Officials, the staff can be the Priests, the teachers would represent the Scribes, the assistant teachers are the Artisans and the students are the Peasants.
