  • THE WANDERINGS OF ODYSSEUS (page 45)
  • A NEWFOUND FRIENDSHIP
  • SAVING HIS SAVIOR
  • On the tenth night, more dead than alive he was cast upon the shore of another island, he was found lying like a frond of sea-wrack stranded on the tideline by the nymph Calypso, the lady of the island.
  • GIFTS FROM THE GODS
  • After being saved and learning who his savior is, Odysseus learns who his savior is. After talking Odysseus decides how to show his appreciation: help her escape her paradise prison.
  • ESCAPE FROM THE PARDISE PRISON
  • After talking Calypso leaves to hunt a sheep for Odysseus' lunch. Odysseus realizes that he has not properly thanked her. He runs after her and saves her from having to pay then price his men had to pay when they killed a sacred sheep.
  • THE NEW QUEEN OF ITHACA
  • After thanking Odysseus for saving her from having to pay a deadly price, Calypso and Odysseus make a shrine for the holy ewe that wandered into their herd. In return for sparing is holy ewe, Hyperion gives Calypso and Odysseus a gift, sunlight at night.
  • HYPERION
  • Odysseus decides to escape with Calypso tonight, the ocean is ideal and the sunlight helps them navigate. Finally Calypso can leave, because she is escorted off the island by her true love, Odysseus. On the boat they made many offerings to Poseidon, and in return he forgot about what his cyclops son said, and forgave them.
  • They reached Ithaca in nine days and nights. Odysseus returned a heroic warrior King and Calypso his beautiful wife and new queen of Ithaca.
