  • There are currently 105,237 people in Australia who are homeless. The rate of homelessnes is 49 out of every 10,000 people (0.5% of the population).
  • ...
  • People become homeless due to a wide range of factors, some of these include addictions, family breakdowns, poor mental health and lack of employment as well as lack of affordable houses in an area.
  • If only I could have controlled my addiction.
  • There are a lot of stereotypes thrown around about homeless people about why there are in the situation they are in, the most common is that they cannot be bothered to get a job but in fact, many do work and some multiple jobs trying to get an income they can survive on.
  • Being homeless strips you of comfort, warmth and the security that others fell when they are at their own homes. Homeless people often get very sick in the winter because they can not stay warm at night time.
  • How can we help? how can YOU help?
  • There are many different ways that YOU can help the homeless. Examples of this include teaching the homeless people your craft, inviting them to a community event to make them feel as part of their community.
