A man was walking along a road from Jerusalem to Jericho.
When two men attacked him and robbed him. They beat him, stripped him and left him on the side of the road half dead.
A Priest was coming down on the same road, saw the man laying there moved to the other side of the road and continued to walk.
A Levite also happened to be walking on the same road, He to saw the man moved to the other side and continued to walk.
A Samaritan came across the man but instead of going to the other side and moving on he took pity on the man, bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.
He put him on his donkey and took him to an inn and took care of him for a day. He then gave the Innkeeper two Denarii and told him to look after the injured man and said he will come back and pay him back any extra expenses.
