  • William Harvey
  • I was one of the first Scientists to discover how the circulatory system worked. I used scientific proof to prove my discover, when many others had to guess.
  • Isaac Newton
  • I was the first person to prove gravity! I also many discoveries about light, gravity and what it has to do with the earth’s orbit around the sun.
  • Francis Bacon
  • 1. Boil a. reaction- fizzes 2. Burns a. reaction- crumbles 3. Freezes a.reaction- discinagrates
  • I was the father of the Scientific method. This is because I laid the “foundation” for the practice of the scientific method.
  • William Harvey figured out how blood flowed through the body, also known as the circulatory system worked. He also inspired and taught many people, theses people made many more discoveries about the body.
  • Johannes Kepler
  • I was one of the first to discovered that planets did not orbit the sun in a circle, they orbited the sun in ellipses. I also made many more discoveries on planets orbits.

  • ELLIPSES!
  • Isaac Newton was the first scientist to discover, and prove the forces of gravity. He figured out how gravity keeps the earth orbiting around the sun, as well as make many discoveries about light. In theses light experiments he discovered how a rainbow is formed. He was also the first to create the reflecting telescope.
  • The Microscope
  • 1. Light Reflects off mirror 2. Increasing Image (imporove clearness as well) 3. Know more about the natural world living around us 4. Find organisms didn't even know existed.
  • This is a model of what the first telescope may have looked like.
  • The Microscope! (Could Change the World!)
  • Francis Bacon stated that, in order to have a successful experiment, you must record careful observations, and reasoning based on facts. This was the”foundation” of the scientific method, which make Francis Bacon the founding father of it. In other words, he was the start of the Scientific Method.
  • The Barometer
  • Vacuum
  • Air Perssure
  • Barometers are used to measure air pressure. Here is a model of what the first barometer looked like.
  • Mercury or Water
  • Johannes Kepler was one of the first scientist to discover that planets did not orbit the sun in circle, but in an ellipses. This was the first of his two famous laws of planetary motion, the second one is the law of equal areas. This is a law used to find the area the planet wipes out in a equal amounts of time as the area.
  • The Microscope was invented by a dutch lens maker in the late 1500s. After this, in the mid 1600s, Antonie van Leeuwenhoek designed, his own, powerful microscope. This microscope allowed him to be the first person to see bacteria. He was amazed to find thousands of unseen living things all around him, it open, not only his eyes, but thousands of other to a whole new world.
  • In 1640 Evangelista Torricelli invented the barometer, this tool is used for measuring changes of pressure in the atmosphere. He filled a glass tube with mercury, turned it upside down onto a dish, and observed it over the next couple of days. He watched the tube and noticed the height of the mercury didn’t stay the same. This invention proved very useful for predicting weather.
