Lenore in greek means light. This implies that in the story The Raven the narrator was surrounded in a dark world filled with sorrow and grief. For Lenore was his light.
The attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form. In The Raven the bird keeps saying 'Nevermore'.
