  • Go find a water route to the Pacific and explore the uncharted West. It's our Manifest Destiney.
  • On May 20,1803, Clark with four dozen men met up with Lewis at the Missouri River.

  • We got look out for Indians.
  • As Lewis and Clark traveled up the Missouri, Clark was always in the boat and Lewis was studying the animals and land.
  • When the end of July came, they traveled up to 600 miles and they haven't seen a single Indian.
  • No, not yet.
  • Have you seen any Indians yet?
  • On August 2, a party of Oto and Missouri Indians arrived at the expedition's camp.
  • They probably believe in neutrality.

  • By the last week of August, Lewis and Clark were heading toward the Sioux territory.
