Storyboard Text

  • Another good year of crops. I will sell them in the market tomorrow.
  • Look at the maize! It is impossible to grow anything in this weather.
  • Countries such as the UK are more developed because of their climate. The UK has perfect weather for farming and therefore money is made through the selling of crops.
  • The location of a country also affects its development. The UK is surrounded by sea and therefore fishing and trading has created a great economic income for the country. The supply of coal, oil and gas in the UK has also developed the country.
  • On the other hand if a country has a hot climate, the soil will be poor and therefore it is very difficult to grow crops. This has reduced the development of some countries because they are not able to eat or sell any crops.
  • What am I going to do now? All of my crops are ruined because of the flood.
  • These countries are also often isolated by mountains and are in very remote areas. This prevents these counties from trading goods and therefore reduces development. Many of these countries have few other resources.
  • Other countries have good soil but their climate is very wet. This can result in severe floods which ruin the country's business and industrial development. Years of hard work get washed away.
  • These severe floods can also ruin crops. This reduces the development of the country because the income made from crops decreases.
