Storyboard Text

  • The Boy on the Wooden Box
  • by Hannah S
  • Im Leon, and me and my family are Jewish. Germany and maybe the whole world hates us. And we are in danger.
  • IN 1939 Conditions for Jews worsened. We were not allowed to own shops, or even do common things. The German Nazis soon started to harass and beat Jews daily. And me and my family were soon sent to live in a Ghetto, witch was housing for Jews in 940.
  • Stupid Jew!
  • What have I done?
  • The Ghetto was a very dark place that housed many Jews. There was never enough food, we were constantly hungry. It was not untill my Father and older brother both got jobs working at a factory for Schindler that our situation became a little better but that was all about to change.
  • After my tired father and brother would return from their job they would tell me how Schindler cared for his workers, and that beatings were rare. But I had a hard time believing them Schindler was a Nazi, and in my mind all nazi's were monsters
  • Yes, thank you sir.
  • Are you okay?
  • One day after living in the Ghetto for almost two years we were all transferred to a concentration camp. We were all very scared we heard horror stories of these places, death showers, hangings.  We were terrified. So we packed our things quickly and did what the officer asked and we left the Ghetto.
  • You are being transferred to the Bernew concentration camp! GO, Pack your things!
