A Day In the Life of A Soldier

The day in the life of a soldier begins at 5 am when all men are woken up by the sound of a beating drum. They are bought into the yard where they run drills for several hours.
We will be running drills till dusk if you men do not get this right!
Soldiers would be given Jobs including guard duty (to watch out for any confederate soldiers), and other tasks including gathering or cleaning supplies.
Brown, you will be on guard duty with Adams and Dukette. Clay, you will gather fire wood and polish the metal fillings.
Sir yes sir!
Soldiers were introduced to the riffle musket, as they were trained how to fire these new weapons.
During the winter months, soldiers spent a lot of time constructing log huts to accommodate several men and keep out the cold. Wooden bunks were also built inside of these huts.
