Storyboard Text

  • What are you doing with that Opium Box?
  • We're tossing it into a fire with the others, Emperor's orders
  • WHAT?!
  • THOSE FOOLS! I will show them what it means to cross the British Empire!
  • My lord, the Chinese have destroyed half of our opium!
  • When the British Found out, they were enraged.
  • What the..? "The Chinese are disobeying the Treaty and are re-arming with rebellions?!"
  • BUTLER! GET MY CART READY!
  • The lord of the trade immediately demanded the order to be redacted but the Chinese weren't keen on surrendering. So instead, they declared war on them.
  • We can't afford another war so soon! Our men and ships aren't ready yet!
  • I don't care! I want them to know that if you EVER mess with us, they get a harsh punishment! I'll even call in the French!
  • And so the First Opium Wars began, causing thousands of casualties and the eventual reformation of the Chinese  Industry. After the Chinese were defeated, the British created a treaty with China that would give the British total control over strategic ports in China, and that China open up to Western trade and influences.
  • The second war began when the Chinese violated the Treaty of Nanjing, which (Much like the Treaty of Versailles) em-placed too much damage to the Chinese, causing them to not follow it and eventually rebel against it.
  • YES MY LORD!
  • After several discussions and ideas, the British then decided that if the Chinese were to rise and disobey that they "Show them where they belonged" and declared war on them again.
  • After many a-death, the Chinese finally surrendered again and this time the British weren't too harsh on their punishments. The war resulted in major casualties for the Chinese and a whole new industrial system to be emplaced. A new treaty was formed, The Treaty of Tientsin.
