Most STI's including the ones mentioned, are preventable in a few ways. Using special items such as condoms and dental dams is one. Another is to receive a vaccination beforehand.
Many schools both elementary and secondary have special days for injections. On these days, students of age are injected with a vaccine that prevents/fights against STI's.
There are also ways involving communication. Asking your partner if they're infected, or going to test for one can help you make your decision. Simply refraining from sexual intercourse is preventing transmission as well.
As said before, booking a test for a STI is the best way to check if one has a STI, especially, if one has no symptoms.
