Chapter 1 setting
The Salinas River drops in close to the hillside bank and runs deep and green.
On one side of the river the golden foothill slope curves up to the strong rocky Gailan mountains.
On the sand banks the rabbits sat as quietly as little gray, sculpted stones.
Up the hill from the river a coyote yammered and a dog answered from the other side of the stream.
Lennie, for God's sake don't drink to much.
Since Lennie and George are walking to this farm the setting is set for them doing that. Nice whether for walking in. The land they are walking on is also a good spot for farming. So that's showing another good thing about the setting of this story for since these guys are glooking to farm. It's also a nice place for a farming. They find a nice place to build a fire and stay over night. There is lots of spots with water that they drink which is good for them while they are walking a lot.
