The experimenter introduced the 'learner', who was a confederate to the experiment, to the 'teacher'. They drew straws to determine their roles – learner or teacher – but confederate was always the learner.
As the teacher, you will administer electric shocks.
The experimenter used prompts to encourage the teacher to continue administering shocks. The shock box went from 15volts to 450.

After 300 volts, the learner did not respond. 65% of participants continued to the highest level of 450 volts. All the participants continued to 300 volts.
