The earth has gone through times of warming and cooling, and following a warm period, there was always a rise in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Some people in Iceland died because of extreme climate change. When their animals died, they had no food.
There have been about 20 glacial retreats and advances, and small ice ages or instances of global warming in the past.
In the present, the world is getting warmer. Even though the US is only 5% of the world's population, we are accountable for 1/4 of the carbon emissions.
Every person in the US contributes 6 1/2 tons of greenhouse gasses in their lifetime. Some things that cause global warming are cars' emissions, burning trees, and landfills
Global warming now is called the "Modern Warming". When global warming gets bad enough, the ice will melt, causing ocean levels to rise significantly. It may be caused, not by humans, but by sections of the sun getting warmer or cooler. It could be completely natural.
