  • Rosa Parks was born on February 4,1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She got married to a man named Raymond Parks on December 18,1932. When whites and blacks were separated. They had different bathrooms, water fountain, schools , bus seats.
  • WE WANT EQUAL RIGHTS
  • In 1943, When Rosa Parks was 42. she refused to give her seat on the bus for a white man. She was arrested just because she refused to give her seat. In 1900's Montgomery and other cities were segregated and the bus drivers had right to arrest, black and whites were assigned seats. Which was racially segregated.
  • I HAVE A DREAM.......
  • Her arrest lead to Montgomery bus boycott. ¨On December 1,1955, Rosa Parks had her trail and the day bus boycott started.¨ mentioned at www.biography.com. Rosa Parks was fined 14 dollars and found guilty . The bus boycott lasted for 381 days. During boycott all the blacks would walk to places instead of using the bus. Some people had to walk 7 miles to job and 7 miles back.
  • In Montgomery bus boycott Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the leader. The Blacks protested everyday and everywhere until they reached it goal. Which was to integrate on public busses. They succeed without violent. The protest ended around December 20, 1956. The supreme court declared that segregation on public busses is unconstitutional.
  • After the Montgomery bus boycott she went to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s speech "I HAVE A DREAM". Also later she was awarded MLK Jr. nonviolent peace prize,U.S. Congress gold medal of honor in 1999.
  • After the civil rights movement Rosa Parks was called "the mother of the civil rights movement". In 1957, Raymond and Rosa Parks left Montgomery for Hampton Virginia. When ¨Parks was 71 years old she marched to Washington D.C to fight for freedom.¨ stated by www.history.com.
