Fossils are formed from over millions of years ago, where dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Fossils are made by tiny sediments that get transported by wind, water, ice or gravity. It then forms into a sedimentary rock after many years.
This poor fish that lies here dead for over many years on top of sediments.
Oh poor me ! :(
Over million of years later, the fish turns into a fossil by sediments crowded on top of the fish and making it trapped there forever and it preserves it from turning into bones that quickly since water and oxygen can't get to it.
Scientists, archaeologists and palaeontologists can dig up fossils and research on what happened in the prehistoric years and that is how a fossil is formed !
