Storyboard Text

  • Federalists want to ratify a constitution that gives too much power to congress and doesn't separate government power enough
  • Don't believe centralization of powers is a bad thing? Let's look at a classic example of what happens when only a few people control the power
  • Hey kid give me your lunch money or my friends and I will beat you up!
  • Federalism supports a weak separation of powers that will lead to too much authority in the central government and the eventual abuse of power
  • AHHH! Ok just take the money don't hurt me!
  • * transition to schoolyard*
  • Update: school money spent on building swimming pool on top of the gym
  • What! How could ASB spend our school's money on such a dumb idea! Isn't there a whole board of people who oversee these decisions?
  • Yeah there is, a president, an executive board, and a whole committee of honorary members! I guess the power isn't separated enough
  • A government with federalist powers like the power to tax or hold a standing militia will inevitably abuse this power like these kids with the lunch money
  • As you can see, federalism is a dangerous belief that will give the government too much power. The federalist supporters of the constitution are advocating a system that will centralize government power and lead to the abuse of citizen's rights
  • Don't let your country become the schoolyard bully. Vote no on the ratification of the constitution
  • This isn't the only way government can abuse power... * transition to next scene*
  • When power isn't separated, the people who control it will eventually abuse their authority and make decisions based on their personal gain, not the good of the whole
