  • Hamartia
  • Hamartia: John Procter's realization that he is a hypocrite for calling Rev. Paris one, as he cheated on his wife with Abigail, starts his downfall and ultimately leads to his death
  • What have I done?
  • Hubris: John's inability to testify against Abigail as well as his feelings of hypocrisy exemplify extreme pride.
  • Where on earth could John be?
  • Anagnorisis: Proctor's wife is accused of witchery, this makes John realize that Abigail is planning to take her place
  • Periopeteia: Elizabeth Proctor is put in jail for accusations of witchcraft brought on by Abigail
  • My God will make a way..
  • Well Mr. Proctor...away you go.
  • Nemesis: John seals and accepts his fate after he rips up his confession.
  • No...please there's got to be another way.
  • He's found his way...
  • Catharsis: Pity and sympathy are brought at the last scene when John Proctor is hung in the middle of saying his final words,
