  • "O my prophetic soul! My uncle!"
  • Hamlet’s tragic flaw is in inability to act upon avenging his father’s murder. Hamlet hesitates when his fathers ghost tells him to murder his uncle.
  • "Revenge his foul and most unnatural murder."
  • Peripeteia
  • Hamlet sees King Claudius praying alone. He has the perfect opportunity to kill him but he realizes that sense Claudius is praying he would go to heaven. This decision causes Claudius to continuously be one step ahead.
  • "I shall not take him in the purging of his soul"
  • Anagnorisis
  • he recognizes that he can't control anything but his own reactions, but that knowledge frees him to finally take action and fulfill his father's final request.
  • "if it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now... the readiness is all."
  • Nemeisis
  • The nemesis in the play is Claudius because his wrong doings lead to everyone's deaths
  • "It is the poison'd cup; it is too late."
  • Catharsis
  • The audience feels compassionate for Hamlet when he is fighting Laertes; because Laertes plans on killing Hamlet, and Hamlet agreed to just playing a fair fight.
