The Atomic Theory By: Donna
John Dalton's theory was that all matter is made of small particles called atoms.
J.J Thompson discovered the first model of atoms and the model became known as the "plum pudding" model.
Ernest Rutherford disproved J.J Thompson theory. Rutherford tested Thompson theory by shooting particles at a piece of gold foil. Rutherford discovered the particles in the center of the atom, the nucleus.
Niels Bohr understood the structure of the atoms and that the electrons revolve in stable orbits around the atomic nucleus.
Scientist still argue that the Bohr model was incorrect. While Bohr discovered the levels, he did not research how the levels can change.
