Storyboard Text

  • Hello class! We are going to learn about the rock cycle.
  • There are three types of rocks: igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic.
  • Igneous
  • Metamorphic
  • Sedimentary
  • Igneous rocks are eroded, but can be weathered as well. This is when sediments are formed. Sediments are pressed and cemented together to form sedimentary rocks.

  • Sedimentary Rock
  • Sedimentary rocks receive heat and pressure to form into metamorphic rocks.

  • Metamorphic Rock
  • Metamorphic rocks are melted due to heat in the mantle. The melted rock forms magma which cools and hardens to form igneous rocks.
