My brother just got out of the bath and I want to know how long it will take to be fully drained.
In class we are learning literal equations. So I know the first thing I should do is write an equation.
The equation would be y=-3/20+19 because you start out with 19 gallons of water in the tub. You loose 3 gallons of water every 20 seconds.
So if every 20 seconds you loose 3 gallons of water, and you start with 19 gallons. Then at 40 seconds you will have 13 gallons and after 1 minute you have 10 gallons left. So if you keep going down 3 gallons every 20 seconds.
So the amount of time for the bathtub to drain would be approximately 2 minutes and 6 seconds.
Now I can go and take my bath now since the water is all drained.
